At least 10 people were killed in a shooting at a shopping centre in Munich on Friday, German police said.
The gunman, who was dressed in black, opened fire on a McDonald’s restaurant at the city’s Olympia Einkaufszentrum shopping centre, before killing himself.
The mall near the southern German city’s Olympic stadium was surrounded by police after shots were fired.
The shooting comes just days after a teenage asylum seeker went on the rampage with an axe and a knife on a regional train in Germany, injuring five people.
Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said the teenager was believed to be a “lone wolf” attacker who appeared to have been “inspired” by the Islamic State group but was not a member of the jihadist network.
It also follows a truck attack in the French Riviera city of Nice after Bastille Day fireworks last week that left 84 people dead.
An 18-year-old German-Iranian from Munich is thought to have been the gunman who shot nine dead and injured 16 others before killing himself in Germany on Friday.
Please say a prayer for the families of the victims.
