“There were many other signs that Jesus gave in the presence of his disciples, but were not recorded in this book.” Jn 20:21.
“But Jesus did many other things; if all were written down, the world itself would not hold the books recording them.” Jn 21:25.
It must not be in the bible for it to be the truth for Jesus said that when the Holy Spirit comes, He will lead us into all truth.
See 2 Thessalonica 2:15 “Because of that, brothers and sister, stand firm and hold to the traditions that we taught you by word or by letter.”
Here by letter St. Paul talks about the bible for we know that most of the New Testament books were letters written to different Christian communities eg St. Pauls letter to the Roman etc.
As for the traditions taught by word, St. Paul was talking about those practices taught from one generation to another that were not actually written down like some history or tradition your great grandfather told your grandfather and your grandfather told your father and your father told you. You see what I mean?
I am here trying to show you scripturally that it must not be in the bible for it to be true. The word Rosary must not be in the bible for it to be a gift of God through the Holy Spirit.
Know ye that the mysteries of the Rosary we pray is only but a meditation of the life of our Lord Jesus Christ. From the Joyful mystery where we meditate on Jesus birth and early childhood to the Luminous mystery where we meditate on His public ministry to the Sorrowful mystery where we meditate on the sufferings and death of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary to the Glorious mystery where we meditate on His glorious resurrection and the decent of the Holy Spirit.
The truth is that the prayer of the Rosary is more about Jesus and less about Mary but yet we cannot talk about Jesus without talking about Mary for it is the will of God Almighty that we could not have Jesus without Mary. Only the last two decades of the Glorious mysteries of the Rosary have direct meditations on the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Even the Hail Mary we pray is composed from the bible being the encounter between angel Gabriel and Mary “Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you.” Lk 1:28-31 and the encounter between Mary and Elizabeth “Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb!” Lk 1:43 while the Church added the last part of the Hail Mary under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Every prayer of the Rosary is biblical just as the mysteries we meditate on as we pray the rosary are all biblical.
I actually wrote this short piece to help a sister who sent me a mail saying she loves to promote the Rosary but friends mock her saying she should speak about God alone and that the Rosary is not in the bible. I hope this little piece will also help others who experience the same persecutions from ignorant people who know not nor understand what they are doing.
Pray for them when they persecute you for they are blind men leading blind people to destruction. There are many biblical quotations to support the prayer of the Rosary which could be found online, this is only but a short and prompt piece put together as a reply to a mail which I think may help some other people.
If this piece has helped you in any way, share it to help someone else. Many thanks and God bless you.
