Brianna Rollins 100-meter Hurdle Olympic Gold Medalist

U.S. women for the first time in history swept the 100-meter hurdles event last night and won all three medals. Brianna Rollins crossed the finish line in 12.48 seconds to win the gold medal and Nia Ali finished at 12.59 seconds to win silver while Kristi Castlin won the bronze medal finishing at 12.61 seconds just .02 seconds ahead of Great Britain’s Cindy Ofili

When gold medalist Brianna Rollins was asked how she and her fellow athletes prepared for the race, she said “we formed a prayer circle this morning and we just let His presence come upon us.”

Rollins competed at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials, but did not make the Olympic team, finishing sixth in the 100 metres hurdles with a time of 12.94.
